IELTS TEST

Alright,

In order to make sure I am quite ready for the IELTS test, I'll write the overview of the exam. =)
By the way, I am taking the Academic Module since I am about to further my studies in Australia. InsyaAllah...

There are 4 components of the test:

1. Listening
2. Reading
3. Writing
4. Speaking

LISTENING TEST

There are 4 sections:

   a) conversation of two people (non formal)
   b) an instruction/ a talk by someone (non formal)
   c) conversation of few people (formal)
   d) a lecture (very academic)


READING TEST

• 60 minutes for 40 questions (must answer very quickly)
• 3 sections
• need the skimming and scanning skills instead of comprehension because you just have to find the answer in the given text.

WRITING TEST

• consist of two questions.
• Question 1: Write a summary from given chart/ diagram (20 minutes, 150 words)
• Question 2: Write an argument/ opinion/ essay (40 minutes, 250 words)

SPEAKING TEST

• Part 1: Introduce yourself
• Part 2: They give a topic, talk about the topic for 2 minutes
• Part 3: Discuss and argue the topic with the interviewer
